The maximum permissible weight, for health and safety reasons, for any single item of checked in baggage is 30 kilos.
Please note that, because we also need to allow passengers to carry skis, the additional 20 kilos purchased by Going Large will only be carried on a space available basis if you are travelling to or from the following airports; Chambery, Berne, Geneva and Salzburg.
If we are unable to carry your bag to any of these destinations we will refund your second bag fee. This does not affect bookings for skis confirmed through the Flybe Customer Call Centre.

You may carry 1 piece of hand baggage on board the aircraft. The maximum permitted dimensions (please ensure that you include the bag's handles and wheels) for this item are 50 x 35 x 23cm and it should not exceed 10 kilos in weight. If you are travelling in Flybe Economy Plus you may also carry a laptop.
Note that Loganair can only accept hand baggage up to a maximum of 40cm x 35cm x 18cm.

Please ensure that vessels holding liquids contain no more than 100ml each.
All individual liquid items must fit comfortably into one transparent, re-sealable bag no larger than 1 litre or approximately 20cm x 20cm (about the size of a small freezer bag). The bag must fit into the one permitted piece of cabin baggage but you will be asked to present the bag separately when going through airport security. Liquids of any amount may be carried in luggage checked into the aircraft hold.

The following items will be refused and confiscated by the airport security officers under the guidelines of the Department of Transport. All dangerous items listed will not be carried.
Sharp items such as scissors, knives of any description, tools and sharp accessories including screwdrivers, imitation toy guns, hypodermic needles, sporting equipment or any item which may be considered to be a safety risk to the passengers or crew, are prohibited from the aircraft cabin and must be packed in Hold Baggage.

Excess baggage is carried on a standby basis only. Carriage will only take place if there is sufficient space available in the aircraft hold and will be subject to a charge (currently £12 (€14, 20CHF) per kilo for the first 3 kilos £15 (€17, 25CHF) per kilo for between 4 and 6 kilos and £20 (€23, 34CHF) for every kilo there after). Charges may vary for franchise or code share routes not operated by Flybe, and will be applied at the prevailing rate when payment is made. Exceptional items may be carried at a charge of £30 (€37, 50 CHF) per exceptional item per sector. Carriage is subject to space and weight and not as part of the personal allowance. Charge is applied regardless of any other baggage allowance. See bellow for details:
Passengers may carry 1 pushchair or pram and 1 car seat for each child or infant. There is no charge for the carriage of pushchairs or car seats.
Golf clubs may be prebooked within 24 hours of making your flight booking through the Flybe Customer Call Centre. In the event that our ski or golf club numbers have already been reached on your flights then you can cancel your booking with no penalty within 24 hours of the booking being made. In the event that our prebooked golf club numbers have already been reached then your golf clubs will be accepted on a stand by basis only and no prebooking is required.

Flybe accept the carriage of fishing equipment on a stand-by basis. Carriage will only take place if there is sufficient space available in the hold of the operating aircraft.

All tackle boxes and rod bags will be carried in the hold of the aircraft and under no circumstance may live maggots or any other form of live bait be accepted.
We accept the carriage of bicycles on a stand-by basis only. Carriage will thus only take place if there is sufficient space available in the hold.

Musical instruments are normally carried in the hold of the aircraft, please ensure that they are suitably packaged and are covered by adequate insurance.
Cellos can usually be carried in the cabin if a protected seat is purchased, as they can be secured safely in an aircraft seat. This must be booked via the Customer Call Centre.
Musical instruments are included in passengers luggage allowance and excess baggage fees must be paid if allowance is exceeded.
All other large musical instruments such as harps, double bass, drum kits, guitars, etc. will need to be prepared and packaged for carriage in the aircraft hold. These will be carried on a standby basis only.
Military regalia (flags, drums, etc.) can be carried in the hold without incurring any additional charges, as long as they fall within the purchased weight limit. For example, passengers having paid for a standard 20KG bag and checking in with a 15KG bag and a 5KG flag will not be charged extra to check in the flag as the total of the two items fall within the accepted weight limit.
Certain firearms may be carried on Flybe services, please contact the Customer Call Centre for further information. If your firearm is approved for travel you will be required to complete a firearms declaration form (pdf). Please ensure that you print this document and complete sections A and B prior to checking in for your flight. The firearms declaration document is made up of three copies - all of which should be completed in advance and presented at check-in.
Passengers may carry one bag in the aircraft hold free of charge. The maximum weight of the bag must not exceed 20 kilos. Flybe Economy Plus passengers may carry a single bag weighing up to 30 kilos. The maximum permissible weight for any single item of checked in baggage is 30 kilos. An excess baggage charge of £10 (€13) will be applied for the second and subsequent bag loaded into the hold, or for any bag weighing more than 20 kilos. Any bag containing sharp items must be checked in and carried in the hold. Cabin baggage allowance is 6 kilos and limited to one bag with maximum dimensions of 40cm x 35cm x 18cm. Cabin baggage must fit into the gauge at the airport and will be weighed. Bags which exceed the size and/or weight restriction can only be carried as hold baggage, charges will apply. There is no baggage charge for unaccompanied minors. Exceptional items such as golf clubs or skis are charged at £10 (€13) per item per sector. Infants receive a 20 kilos baggage allowance. Loganair reserves the right to vary the baggage charges without prior notice. Charges will be applied at the prevailing rate at the time bags are booked.

Loganair can accept Celtic harps for carriage in the hold, the harps dimensions should not exceed 1.25m x 0.25m x 0.85m and should be packed in a suitable case, a maximum of one Celtic harp per aircraft may be carried, for booking of Celtic harps please contact Iainhunter@loganair.co.uk.
We shall have no liability whatsoever for damage to articles not permitted to be contained in checked Baggage, including fragile or perishable items, items having a special value, such as money, jewellery, precious metals, computers, personal electronic devices, negotiable papers, securities, or other valuables, business documents, passports and other identification documents, or samples. Please see the General Conditions of Carriage. It is in the passenger's own interests to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance or insurance which specifically covers the item(s) that are carried onboard or within the aircraft hold(s).
Under the Montreal Convention, Flybe's liability for lost, damaged or delayed baggage is limited to 1131 SDRs¹. Flybe will allow passengers to declare a higher value up to a maximum of 2,000 SDRs per person, provided that the criteria below can be met. A set administration charge of £25 (€40, 55CHF) per sector will be levied separately for the outward and return flight. A receipt will be issued for this amount. This is not an insurance premium. Any subsequent claim would be subject to proven loss. Passengers who wish to declare a supplementary value may do so at the Flybe ticket desk at the airport and must present themselves, with their baggage no later than 2 hours prior to departure. The request must be made and the supplementary value charge must be paid prior to check-in. The items must be appropriately packaged and the checked item must be suitably secured or locked. Flybe reserve the right to examine the items being declared and will detail these on an inventory which will be signed by the passenger and staff member. The checked item must then be locked by the passenger in the presence of the agent. Where a passenger has declared a supplementary value for their baggage it will only be accepted on Flybe services and cannot be through checked on to any other airline.
